Featured as the opening intro for Bassnectar’s 2012 Freestyle Mixtape (labeled “01. Dancer In The Dark Intro – Audiovoid Remix”). Bassnectar used and manipulated the beginning part of this tune in which I had originally sampled Bjork From “Dancer In The Dark”.
This is the full un manipulated “Tears Of The Blind LayerZ Remix” from 2005.
The original “Tears Of The Blind” was created in 2002 and then remixed by myself in 2003 and featured on the (now out of print) album “Twilight Machine” as a Nu School Breaks Remix as well as in 2005 as THIS (never released) Midtempo Glitch version.

We have anticipated this release for quite some time. With all of the wicked releases that we get from Muti, we are constantly asking Dov when we will get a chance to hear his personal output. That moment has arrived with the “Earth Bleed” release, and we are honored yet again to add another friends’ gift to waveform matrix. The West Coast just won’t stop!
Dov is known as a genre pusher, from importing-exporting and selling some of the first Nubreaks, Dubstep and Glitch Hop to the USA and throwing San Francisco’s first dedicated Breakbeat weeklies in the nineties, to selecting and releasing music for multiple labels, he is in the trenches making sure the underground keeps a fresh supply of beats and bass.
Dov’s original mix of ‘Earth Bleed’ delves into ever expanding basslines and organic textures at times reminiscent of volcanic fissures and atmospheric rips. One of USA’s pioneers of electronica, namely ‘Single Cell Orchestra’ takes things even deeper into the darkness with a remix of squelchy basslines and a steady groove. Rounding out the remixes of the title track is LayerZ (also known as Audiovoid) delivering a version that is ghostly, haunting and yet helps dig us out of the deep pit of bass with rolling almost melodic basslines. Moving onwards the EP also features a collaboration track with Canadian breaks, dubstep, glitch, techno, electro producer/man of the moment, ill.gates. Night Of 1000 Tentacles is almost theatrical in nature, with clear dubstep influences, lots of field recording and sound design and also picking up the pace a little and showing much variety in beats and percussion. The EP is rounded of with an uplifting midtempo breakbeat track that is great for something to round off a night.
Recently producing dubstep remixes for Sub Swara on Low Motion Recordings and experimental /glitch remixes of Posthuman and Welder on Myuzyk and Cyberset Music respectively, Dov now emerges from the shadows with an EP of dubstep and midtempo breaks that is a journey of intense emotions.
LayerZ Spit Wods Ep Out Now
This Muti gem started out as a project of sharing parts and remixes between LayerZ and Los Angeles based group ‘Kether’. This resulted in a conceptual EP using the sound palette to create three distinctively different evolutions of the same sound! LayerZ production style has always caught peoples ears with his special gift of sound design and evolving sound spaces, so expect to see a lot more of these experiments in the near future.
Lindsey (a.k.a. Audiovoid) has done his rounds from playing in a metal band, creating bass-driven techno, Industrial and IDM, more recently rolling out some of the best Dubstep, Elecrobreaks, and Glitch Hop around. LayerZ is his outlet for his take on slower tempos, providing space for next level sound design to his typically glitched out beats and effects. Receiving instant praise and play from the likes of Si Begg and Bassnectar, with comparisons to Neil Landstrumm, Ital Tek and Andy Page, Lindsey is only beginning to show us his full potential.
